DCL’s European market is served by its UK and Maastricht offices The European sales team consists of seven people supervised by the Director of European Sales. The culture can be described as informal with a direct way of communication. The organizational structure is flat with a results-oriented mindset.

Functie-informatieIn the role of Sales Manager you are responsible for selling and promoting DCL’s full range of products into the Coatings, Plastics Inks markets e.g. for the automotive market and other end-use industries with an initial focus on French customers, there will subsequently be the opportunity to take on additional markets/countries, including the management of DCL distributors in these markets in due course. Most of the time you will interact with individuals at higher levels, both internally and externally. You will manage a diverse, technically oriented customer base and distributor network. Internally, you will work together with R&D, Management and Customer Service and help to inspire the Marketing department to come up with new initiatives. This involves giving your input on new product ideas, market research, price previews, obtaining competitive samples, new product launch support and distributor training. Together with the sales team you will also set up the annual sales plan and forecast.
It is an interesting time to be Sales Manager in the pigment industry as the market is dynamic, which presents numerous opportunities. As well as having a strong focus on acquiring new business, you will be maintaining and developing existing client relationships.
You are an enthusiastic, driven and communicative person with a natural sales ability. The combination of being familiar with a variety of sales concepts, practices and procedures and a high level of tact and diplomacy makes you thrive. Another important factor is that you have a long-term perspective as being new in the business it might take you some time to get up to speed. DCL is looking for someone who takes the initiative and doesn’t take no for an answer. You have completed a business or technical-related degree on at least the level of a university of applied sciences. An affinity with chemistry is important, to learn the ins and outs of the pigment industry. Another prerequisite is that you speak French and are willing to travel 50% of the working year once Corona regulations allow this.
